New T.V.

Our Christmas present to each other this year was a new T.V. to replace the old static box we've been wheeling around with us. We were going to get the digital-converter box in February, but at the last minute (thanks to a Christmas bonus), we went for the real-deal-HD-flatscreen-awesome-box (from Costco). Grandpa Jamie was here last weekend checking it out with Cody and Sean:

OK, so you can't actually see the new T.V. in this picture, but i bet you can guess where it is.

By the way, we have been watching the HBO mini series John Adams (on DVD from Costco) on our new TV and it is great. I can't wait to watch it again with Sean when he is interested in history. We watch a little bit a few nights a week, and I find myself thinking about it all day at work. We just watched the part when John and Abigail move into the new White House. What a contrast to the inauguration we watched last week.

South Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure

We might have another lawyer in the family in a few years...

New Skills

Sean has acquired two new skills recently (although he's still working on perfecting both of them)-- eating real food and standing (with a little help)! Still no signs of crawling though :)

Sean, Play!

This Sunday after Church we went over to our dear friends' Bruce and Teresa's house for some brunch. They have 2 y.o. Gabriel and brand new Natalie. Gabriel has loved Baby Sean since he first visited us in the hospital when SB was only 2 days old. Now, when we enter Church and Gabriel spots us he loudly proclaims "Ba-bee Sean! Ba-bee Sean!" G. was so excited to have Baby Sean over to play, but I think he was a little dissapointed in Sean's social skills. Clearly Sean is bigger than Natalie, so he should be able to play with Gabriel, right?

Gabriel first took out all of his toys to show to Baby Sean. After sean sat in my lap looking pretty disinterested Gabriel finally walked over to him, tried to pick him up and demanded, "Sean, play!" When he saw this wouldn't work he settled for "Sean, sit here." So he did.
Teresa then reminded Gabriel of what they talked about before we came over... that Sean wouldn't be able to play all the same things Gabriel plays, and it might be better to sit and read him a book. Gabriel remembered immediately, grabbed a book and asked for Sean to come sit and read with him.

Unfortunately, this too did not turn out how Gabriel had hoped. Sean couldn't read, and sadly, was only interested in eating Gabriel's book.
Gabriel realized he must do something about Baby Sean trying to eat all his books.
AH, finally a game Baby Sean can play! If you just sit there, I will play doctor. Gabriel was a great doctor and listened to all of our hearts. Baby Sean's is just fine.

Gabriel makes one last attempt at interactive play with baby sean.

Gabriel may have been a little dissapointed in his unplayful play-date, but Sean had a wonderful Sunday!

First Christmas and New Things for Baby

We had a wonderful Christmas, and this post is well overdue. Sean received so many nice new presents for his First Christmas.-- here are just a few captured on camera:

First came the new Exersaucer from GG and Grandpa Groeber!... this is a shot of his first time in it-- he was a little confused and overwhelmed and tried to fit all the toys in one grasp as if to say "all of these toys can't really be mine! quick, grab them all before someone takes them away!" He wouldn't let go of one toy before going to the next, so he ended up keeping one hand on one part of the exersaucer while looking for another toy. it was so cute. Now he's a champ at the exersaucer and seems comfortable enough that neither mom nor dad want his exersaucer toys.

Next Sean received these awesome new Baby Legs in the mail from aunt Neecie. they are so darn cute and look great with his shorts overalls.

Next was a new stocking waiting for Sean in Anderson! Apparently Aubrey Anne and Sean both got their names embroidered on their stockings for the first time this year. It took AA 20 years and SB only 6 months... sorry AA!

Then a new hat for the trip to cold Detroit...

And meeting a new cousin was the best present! Sean and Gaia (pictured with Eva) met for the first time and hit it off. Well, sean didn't really know what was going on, but Gaia really liked "the baby" and was very interested in this little tiny person.
