July 12-18 2008

Some of the 500 or so pictures documenting SB's visit from his Michigan relatives, who visited Charleston in different shifts stretching from July 3-18 .... Top pictures are with grandma(s) Peggy, Lisa, and Bijal, then Eva and Denise on their way home (below), and Sean Erin & Cody first time in Church at the Cathedral (7/13). Other pix are SB in various settings: contemplating one of his first baths on his Uncle Sean's birthday (7/15), with his grandfathers Jamie and Matt at 2 AM (7/18), with the girls in front of SB's new house (7/13), and with his one-and-only first cousin Eva Rhiannon (7/13)

Growth Spurt!

At our last check up the doctor warned me that SB might be growing through a growth spurt soon. Last night Cody and I both noticed that he looked bigger and he is eating more. This morning Sean officially grew out of his first newborn outfit! I couldn't button up the rest of these jammies! and the arms are too short! (Jammies compliments of Iris Weber, John and Nicole's second daughter who passed on some of her outfits to SB). Yesterday he actually kicked the bottom part of his Moses Basket, i would say he only has another couple of weeks in it.

As you can see in this picture, Sean is also developing a cute little double chin. AND, his legs finally fill up the leg openings on his plastic diaper pants! he's definitely getting squishier, if not chubby.

Dad Sling

This was cody's first father's day present-- a Maya Wrap Sling, or as we call it, a Hippie Dad Sling. SB likes sleeping in it when we go on walks together, or especially at church. he looks like a big peanut in his sling.

Tired.

I love being a mom, especially of a supercute baby. but its more tiring than i expected.

Trip to the Beach

We spent the last half of the week with the Groebers at Isle of Palms. this was SB's first trip to the beach and he loved it! Anytime he would get fussy someone would bring him out on the porch and the warm air and sound of the ocean calmed him down right away. It was nice for me to be out of our house for a few days and SB loved being around his fam.

Sean's newborn prepster outfit is compliments of Aunt Denise. It was perfect for his first Charleston beach portrait.

Godparents

We recently asked Cody's brother Micah and my sister Denise to be Sean's Godparents. we know they will both be committed to praying for SBG and will continue to be a positive influence in his life and faith. Stay tuned for possible dates for the baptism.

When Eva was here to meet Sean she described him in her newsletter as "small and froggy." I think the above picture of Sean sleeping on his literary aunt attests to his frogginess. Eva hit the nail on the head: He is very froggy.

Happy Birthday Grandma Groeber!

Today is Grandma Lisa's birthday! we are going to meet the Groebers out at the beach this afternoon to celebrate. Today also happens to be the 3rd anniversary of when Cody proposed to me-- at the beach. It seems like just the other day, and now all of a sudden we have a baby!

Baby Bear

More tummy time

Duck Duck Goose

Cody's Aunt Karen made this beautiful "duck duck goose" quilt for Sean before he was born. It is perfect for "tummy time" and resides in SB's Moses basket as a pillow the rest of the day. Here are some cute pics of tummy time on the duck duck goose blanket. Thanks Aunt Karen!

Due Date!

Today is Sean's (second) due date although he came 11 days ago on July 2! We took Sean to church for the first time today and he slept the whole time in Cody's Dad sling. He especially liked the music. Here are some pictures of his first week home. He is awesome.
